More Good Mondays – Cyclin’ for the City
Kick your week into high gear – don’t spend another night wondering what to do; instead, go into our community and do good with others! Just to make things easier, we have found three events this week that we think are worthy of a CBers time. Here they are:
1. A green utopia in the ATL? You found it.
Sustainable Lakewood/S.E.E.D. Open House Wednesday, August 27th from 7 to 9 pm; South Atlanta Marketplace/Community Grounds – 1297 Jonesboro Rd. SE, Atlanta, GA 30315. Imagine a sustainable utopia and that is where the Lakewood community is heading. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn about a better way of community planning and living while enjoying music and food in SW Atlanta. This event is perfect for those interested in sustainable design, law, education, marketing, accounting, and more.
2. Porch Parties beat parking-lot parties every day of the week
Strummin’ on the Porch Thursday, August 28th from 6 to 8pm; Rhodes Hall – 1516 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, GA. Take time to Reclaim, Restore, & Revitalize yourself at the renovated, sustainable Rhodes Hall! Enjoy a free concert on the porch by She N She in support of the Georgia Trust and the Atlanta History Center. If porch parties don’t say summer in Atlanta, then we don’t know what does.
3. Choose your distance and ride for ATL
One Love Century Ride. Saturday, August 30 at 8am (Registration starts at 6:45am). 3310 Stonewall Tell Road Atlanta, GA. You don’t have to be a cyclist for this event, but it definitely can’t hurt. Join 700 of your fellow Atlantans to ride through South Fulton as part of the city’s best charity bike ride, hands down. The courses range from 16-101 miles, so there really is something for everyone. Cross the finish line and stay for the party afterward with a live DJ, Jamaican food, and more! All proceeds benefit WeCycleAtlanta.
Discover something new in Atlanta, or do what you already love. Either way, make it count.
