ATL Tech Gives Back September 2018

Sep 20, 2018 to Sep 20, 2018

It’s a better way to meet new people… Guaranteed.

Kick off the Fall season with the 3rd Tech Gives Back of 2018 on Thursday September 20th!

Hypepotamus and Community Bucket, two Atlanta creations, already believe in the power of startups and the power of volunteering. That’s why we’ve joined forces to launch Tech Gives Back! This is a quarterly service event for anyone who works (or aspires to work) in technology or at a startup, and who frankly gives a damn about helping to make this city better. We’ll partner with local grassroots nonprofits that rely on strong groups of volunteers, and you will get to make a difference while strengthening the entire startup ecosystem in Atlanta.

For this event, we will return to the some of the same nonprofits from April to give you a chance to have an even deeper impact and see your work flourish. There are 4 projects to choose from in the afternoon, followed up with a happy hour at Tijuana Garage for all the volunteers to celebrate their good deeds.

Rally your teammates, call up some colleagues, or just come alone… either way, you’ll be part of one strong and awesome community!

Here’s a quick look at the project partners we’ll be working with in the afternoon:

  • Grant Park Conservancy: Atlanta loves our neighborhood parks! This group keeps the city’s oldest park looking its best, and they cannot do it without volunteers. Project will include a variety of tasks, such as weeding, trash removal, and maybe even some planting around the park.
  • MedShare: This warehouse collects unused medical supplies headed for the landfills and instead ships them to hospitals around the world in need. Volunteers help sort, pack and ship thousands of pounds of supplies.
  • Wylde Center: Head out to Sugar Creek Farm in Oakhurst, this mainstay of organic community gardening. We’ll help with activities such as mulching, weeding, planting, and you’ll get to learn a thing or two about growing food!

Tickets are only $12, which includes:

  • Reserved spot in a seamlessly-run project with some of the finest organizations in our city
  • Snacks and supplies during the service project
  • Donation back to the partner organization
  • Drink ticket and Appetizers included at the happy hour afterward at Tijuana Garage

You can also add a premium soft t-shirt for $12 at checkout!

So, what are you waiting for? We hope to see you on September 20!

Thank you to our sponsors!
