CB Atlanta: Fall Fun on the Farm

Oct 05, 2019 : 10:00AM

It’s a better way to meet new people… Guaranteed.

Fall is upon us and we are ready to get our hands dirty for Fall fun on the farm Saturday, October 5th and we can’t wait to see you there! Every set of volunteering hands will help provide food for Atlanta families in need.

Start your weekend off the right way with some refreshing morning volunteering on Saturday, October 5th. We’ll begin by volunteering at projects with Aluma Farm or Concrete Jungle, so you can take your pick of locations to help cultivate urban gardens. Afterward we’ll all head over to Aluma Farm to sip on Apple Cider and Decorate Mini Pumpkins.

What to Expect:

  • First, We Serve: Volunteer at Aluma Farm, or Concrete Jungle beginning at 10AM.
  • Then, We Socialize: After we finish up, we will head to Aluma Farm for cider and pumpkin decorating from 12-2PM.

More About These Project Partners:

  1. Aluma Farm – 3.8 acre urban farm along the Atlanta Beltline to respond to the community for fresh fruits and vegetables.
  2. Concrete Jungle – Volunteers with Concrete Jungle collect thousands of pounds of fruits and vegetables each year which they donate to food banks, homeless shelters and feeding programs.

Tickets are $10 and include:

  • Your own Mini Pumpkin to decorate
  • Organic Apple Cider and Fall snacks
  • Snacks from our partners at Clif Bar to keep you going throughout the morning
  • Supplies needed for the volunteer project (sunscreen, bugspray, gloves, gardening tools, etc)

Here’s how it works:

  1. Reserve your spot for the projects below (you get to choose your specific location).
  2. Commit to showing up to serve these local nonprofits at the scheduled time.
    • Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early for check-in.
  3. Join us for pumpkin decorating, snacks, and Apple Cider at Aluma Farm.
  4. Tell your friends to join you, or come alone and meet new people. Either way, you’ll have a blast.
  5. We’ll send you information in a separate email a few days before the event, so stay tuned for that.

MAKE SURE YOU BRING A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE TO STAY HYDRATED!

Every community needs help, and many hands make light work. So why not volunteer in a fun way to give back to the community you love and meet like-minded friends at the same time. Every drop in the bucket counts!
