August Weekend of Good – 5th Anniversary Party!

Aug 26, 2017 to Aug 26, 2017

It’s a better way to meet new people in Atlanta… Guaranteed.

Join us on Saturday, August 26th to celebrate FIVE YEARS of Service Made Social in Atlanta! We have a big lineup of projects in the morning – 6 different sites to choose from – and then we’ll reward ourselves with an awesome party at ASW Distillery, complete with live music, lunch, outdoor games, and of course, some mighty fine local whiskey! What better way to spend a Saturday than doing good and having fun with 100+ like-minded people?

MORNING (8:30-11:30am): We’re excited to partner with all of the following projects. The only downside is you have to pick one…

  • Chosewood Park – Park cleanup in the future site of the Beltline
  • Kittredge Park – Trail maintenance and park beautification in Druid Hills
  • Concrete Jungle – Residential plot turned into a good ‘ol farm that donates everything it grows
  • Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House – Fun projects around this site on Ponce that houses families of nearby patients
  • Wylde Center  – One of the staple organic gardens in Oakhurst
  • Urban Sprout Farm – An art-filled abandoned motel turned into a fully functioning farm

AFTERNOON (12pm – 2pm): The Party at ASW Distillery will take place immediately after the projects end.. There will be boxed lunches from Good Measure Meals, live music from Crooked Wits, and a whole bunch of outdoor “field day” games. Tickets for the party are only $15 and include your tour and whiskey tasting, food, and all the fun that you can have. And a portion of proceeds at ASW will go back to Open Hand Atlanta.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Reserve your spot for one of the projects before they fill up (spots are limited, see details below).
  2. Commit to showing up at the scheduled time – see below for specifics.
  3. Join us for the party after your project!
  4. Tell your friends to join you, or come alone and meet new people. Either way, you’ll have a blast.
  5. We’ll send you information in a separate email a few days before the event, so stay tuned.

Also, we’ll be having a pre-event shindig on Friday night, a bonfire at Urban Sprout Farm for anyone who wants to hang and meet volunteers beforehand. Just RSVP when you register if you plan to attend.

Impact areas: Community, Food Access, Health, Parks, Urban Farming

Please only register if you know you can attend, as spots are limited and we do not like to disappoint our Community Partners with no-shows. If your plans change after you sign up, we ask that you let us know in advance so we can fill your spot. Thanks!
