According to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, nearly 1 in every 9 Atlantans faces food insecurity, meaning they’re 2 to 3 times as likely to face a diet-related chronic illness like heart disease or diabetes.

Helping to combat this trend are the urban farms dotting the Atlanta landscape. Though small in acreage, their impact is mighty; in addition to wellness education, these farms provide several tons of fresh, nutritious produce to local communities each year!

This September, for our Q3 2021 initiative, Tech Gives Back is going to help them out! Prepare to get your fingers dirty as we support two urban farms:

1. Concrete Jungle, near Tyler Perry Studios (Map)
2. Historic Westside Gardens, near Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Map)

Specifically, we’ll have four opportunities to engage:

• A Thursday night Zoom lesson (7:00-7:45) on “Seed Bombing”
• A Friday morning shift (9:00-12:00) w/ lunch at Historic Westside Gardens
• A Friday morning shift (9:00-12:00) w/ lunch at Concrete Jungle
• A Friday afternoon shift (1:00-4:00) w/ beer at Concrete Jungle
